High-Accuracy AI Translation (Generative AI Translation)

As of June 14, 2026, High-Accuracy AI Translation (Generative AI Translation) is provided as a beta feature. Please review the following information before using it.

• What Is High-Accuracy AI Translation (Generative AI Translation)?

This feature uses generative AI to translate conversations in an Onyaku room. Speech recognition (transcription) is performed as usual, while the translation is generated using generative AI.
Compared with the standard translation mode, this feature is expected to provide more accurate translations, especially for Japanese ↔ Chinese, Korean, and Southeast Asian languages.

Please note the following before using this feature.

• • Translations are generated using Gemini 2.5 Flash Lite. The source text, translated text, and other related data are not used to train or improve the generative AI model.
• • High-Accuracy AI Translation may take longer to display translations than the standard translation mode.
• • In rare cases, the translation may be displayed in a language other than the one you selected. If this happens, click the message bubble, make a small edit to the source text (for example, remove the period at the end of the sentence), and click OK. The translation will then be generated again. If the issue persists, consider using the standard translation mode instead.

• How to Use High-Accuracy AI Translation

1. An Onyaku administrator must enable High-Accuracy AI Translation (Beta) (Generative AI Translation) on the Tenant Management screen. By default, this feature is turned off and is unavailable until it is enabled.

   

2. Create and join a room. After entering the room, turn on the High-Accuracy AI Translation (Beta) (Generative AI Translation) switch to begin using High-Accuracy AI Translation.
   
   
   Messages translated using High-Accuracy AI Translation are displayed in dark blue (or light yellow for speech from other participants' devices).
   *If the generative AI cannot produce an appropriate translation, Onyaku may automatically switch to the standard translation mode. In this case, the message bubble will appear in the standard color.
   
   
   Only the room host can turn Generative AI Translation on or off. The setting applies to the entire room and can be changed at any time during the session.

• Editing Message Bubbles

When you edit the transcribed source text, the translation is automatically generated again. The retranslation uses whichever translation mode is currently enabled. (For example, if you want to retranslate a message that was originally translated using High-Accuracy AI Translation in the standard translation mode, first turn off High-Accuracy AI Translation (Beta), then edit the message.)
